Branscombe Beach

Seaton
Campsite's own web site
The campsite is on a farm in a rural position, yet only approximately one and a half miles from the beach and the Jurassic Coast, acclaimed as an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We keep a small flock of sheep and the lambs are a delight to see in the Spring. We have a herd of Exmoor Ponies, which foal in May, and there are Pigs, Geese, a variety of Chickens and Ebony the Goat. There is an assortment of wildlife in the fields and hedgerows, not to mention an abundance of birds.

We currently have 3 Mobile Homes, two with sea views and enclosed lawns, to let on a small campsite, ideal for children with plenty of space to play. We have sites for several touring caravans, equipped with electricity hook-up points and space for camping in tents.

The pretty village of Branscombe is spread out along the valley. There are attractions such as the Old Forge, The Old Bakery, Water Mill and the Church. There is a pub at each end of the village providing good ale and food. There are many lovely country walks, including the coastal footpath to Beer or Sidmouth via Salcombe Regis. Branscombe beach has a cafe providing snacks and beach paraphernalia.

Beer is an attractive fishing village with a sheltered beach and limestone cliffs, a real suntrap. Fresh fish is sold on the beach. Pecorama provides gardens/play park and train ride, besides model railway display. Beer Quarry Caves have interesting guided tours.

Seaton has a small supermarket and other useful shops. There is also the Axe Yacht Club and the harbour. There is a Tram which runs beside the rive Axe which is well known for the variety of Birds to be seen in the estuary.

Sidmouth is a delightful seaside town approximately 7 miles from our campsite. Sidmouth is a host to a Folk Festival each year, usually in the first week of August, when the town is buzzing with people from all over the world.

Exeter is approximately 20 miles away. This historic, cathedral city has many interesting sites to visit and has all the usual high street shops.
