This select park of six acres, situated on the seaward side of the Bridport to Weymouth road, overlooks the famous Chesil Beach, one of the most beautiful parts of Dorset's World Heritage Jurassic Coast.
Set in the valley the panoramic views of the beach and Lyme Bay are quite spectacular. The road past Gorselands goes quite literally on to the beach at West Bexington where there is a large car park and beach café. Alternatively you can walk down through the meadows along Fisherman's Walk.
In this quiet and picturesque setting, Gorselands is uniquely situated and is ideal for those who appreciate a combined sea and country holiday. It is within easy reach of many holiday resorts and places of interest.
Chesil Beach, which runs the seventeen miles from West Bay to Portland, is reputed to be one of the finest fishing grounds in the whole of the British Isles.
Sort your breakfasts and more with locally produced food at farm shops which abound in the vicinity, plus Bridport market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
If you need more then Bridport is well served with large supermarkets and our own park shop is open daily and stocks a basic range of goods including fresh milk, papers, confectionery and frozen food.
You're on holiday, so eating out is a must and there are many excellent pubs and inns in the area. Our 'local' is the Bull Inn at Swyre, just 100yds walking from the Park entrance.
The Manor Hotel in West Bexington, an ideal stop if you are doing the circular walk from the park to the beach and back; or an inland walk gets you to the Crown at Puncknowle (locally pronounced 'Punnel'). Both Abbotsbury and Burton Bradstock have good hostelries and at Hive Beach Burton Bradstock we have the best beach café as voted in 2009.
The majority of caravans are privately owned, and your dream of owning a holiday home on this wonderful Heritage Coastline could come true. Pitches are available each year for new caravans and occasionally we also have second hand models available. Please see our website or call us for up to date availability.
Our Reception office has a wide range of tourist information for planning your days out. A launderette and telephone kiosk are also available for your convenience.
Dogs are welcome. Unlike most parks we do not charge for them but they must be kept on a lead and under control at all times within the Park.
