Heron's Pond is a small private touring park situated just 1/2mile out of the picturesque village of Crakehall, two miles from the market town of Bedale in Lower Wensleydale - the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.
A local bus service passes through Crakehall serving the dales villages up to Hawes (famous for its Wensleydale cheese) and, in the other direction, links up with Bedale and Northallerton.
The site is tastefully landscaped consisting of nine "select" pitches each with gravelled hard standings, electric hook-up, own water supply and a picnic table all surrounded by a spacious lawned area.
The immaculate amenities consist of a spacious tiled shower and washroom with toilet and separate male and female toilets.
The site overlooks the heron's pond that is situated amidst six acres of green pastureland. This is the centre of interest for all the wildlife lovers who can watch the antics of the wild geese, ducks, moor hens, kingfishers - just to mention a few, and of course the heron. Dog owners can enjoy our dedicated dog walk through the long avenue of trees.
This is a quiet, unique little site having only nine pitches but still boasting most of the same amenities provided by the bigger, more expensive sites.
Designed and maintained by Richard & Jean, who are experienced campers themselves, Heron's Pond offers the discerning visitor a comfortable, enjoyable holiday in this wonderful part of Yorkshire. The gravelled access and hard standings make this site an all-weather dream for the motor home owners.
